A team of cyclists from Naperville, IL will be participating in RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) from July 22nd to July 29th in an effort to raise funds for Max's Mission.  RABGRAI is celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be starting in Sioux City with stops in Storm Lake, Ames, Des Moines, Tama-Toledo, Coralville, and ending in Davenport.  Please consider donating to support Max's Mission.  Be on the look out for Max's Mission cycling jerseys which will be available for purchase starting in early July.  A big thank you to Box and Trek Naperville for the sponsorship and support.

In April of 2023 Max’s Mission hosted a remembrance ceremony to honor all the lives lost to suicide in our community. Everyone was invited who had lost someone they knew to suicide. We had over 130 people in attendance with 28 names of lives lost to suicide being read at the end of the ceremony along with a moment of silence for each name.

We had guest speakers which included a pastor, therapists who deal with grief, loss and suicide and a Naperville police officer. The talks were educational and aimed specifically at the audience full of suicide loss survivors. We had beautiful hand painted rocks that were created by a local artist for each person attending to take home, as well as succulent plants that were donated by a local florist. We had a bulletin board where photos of loved ones who have passed could be posted as well as memory cards that survivors could fill out and post on the bulletin board.

Our goal for this remembrance ceremony was for the people attending to walk out of the event wtih hope and to feel empowered and connected. This will be an annual event for Max’s Mission that we know will grow in numbers each year.
